Naomi Parks
Intern
Naomi Parks is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Public Affairs & Commerce, with a minor in Psychology. She is also pursuing a Certificate in Leadership Studies. Parks’ research interests include human rights issues, specifically religious freedom and women's rights, Asian studies, and peace studies. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in international relations. Parks is studying Japanese and Spanish, and has traveled to Japan, Korea and Canada.
Fedorah Philippeaux
Intern
Fedorah Philippeaux is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A sophomore at UCF, she is pursuing a double major in Molecular Biology/Microbiology and Engineering, with a minor in Political Science. Her research interests include European and Latin American politics, revolution and political violence and Western European history. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue doctoral and medical degrees, focusing on biomedical engineering. Philippeaux is fluent in Spanish, French and Creole, conversational in Dutch and plans to study Arabic. She has traveled to Haiti, Canada and throughout Europe.
Carly Talbott
Intern
Carly Talbott is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in Political Science, with an emphasis on International Relations and Comparative Politics, and minoring in Hospitality Management and Mass Communications. Her research interests include the environment and global climate change, human rights, and women’s rights. Upon graduation, Talbott plans to study law or pursue graduate studies in political reporting. She has traveled widely in Europe, including France, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria.
Ashley Zohar
Intern
Ashley Zohar is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at UCF, she is majoring in Legal Studies. Her research interests include globalization, women’s rights, human rights, environmentalism and culture studies. Upon graduation, she plans to attend law school to study international law. Zohar is conversational in Hungarian and French, and understands some Hebrew. She lived in Budapest, Hungary, for ten years, and has traveled to Russia, Turkey, Mexico, Haiti, Israel and throughout Europe.
Candace Owen
Senior Intern
Candace Owen is a senior intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a graduate student at UCF, pursuing an M.A. in Political Science, with an emphasis on International Studies. She has a B.A. in Political Science & International Relations from UCF. From 2007 to 2008, Owen participated in the AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America program. Her research interests are human rights, human trafficking, and sustainable global economic development. She plans to pursue a doctorate in International Relations. Owen is studying French and has traveled to Italy.
Ariel Dansky
Intern
Ariel Dansky is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at UCF, she is majoring in Political Science, with an emphasis on Comparative Politics, and minoring in Women's Studies and Psychology (with plans to add Spanish). She is active in UCF College Democrats and a Big Sister in the Young Women Leaders Program. Her research interests include the Middle East, women and globalization, and development in Africa and the Islamic world. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a joint Master's/Law degree, and then work for the U.S. Foreign Service. Proficient in Spanish and conversational in Hebrew, Dansky has traveled to England, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Israel.
Kelsey Formel
Intern
Kelsey Formel is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in Political Science, with an emphasis on International and Global Studies, and minoring in Middle Eastern Studies. She is a member of the UCF Chapter of Amnesty International and the UCF Model United Nations. Her research interests include Middle Eastern and environmental issues. Upon graduation, Formel plans to join Americorp, then pursue a graduate degree in international affairs. Formel is fluent in Spanish and plans to learn Arabic. She has traveled to Panama, Belize, Greece, the Czech Republic, Germany and Spain.
Maria M Giraldo
Intern
Maria M. Giraldo is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at Rollins College, majoring in International Affairs, with a minor in Business Administration. Her research interests include the politics of Latin America, human behavior and the study of war. Upon graduation, she plans to attend graduate school and work in the area of international development assistance. A native of Colombia, Giraldo is fluent in Spanish and has traveled to Mexico, Colombia, Spain, France and Belgium.
Meldin Graziani
Intern
Meldin Graziani is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a graduate student at the University of Central Florida, pursuing an M.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on International Studies. She has a B.S. in Legal Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. Her research interests include the European Union and the Middle East. Graziani plans to pursue a doctoral degree in International Relations. Fluent in Spanish, she has studied French and Mandarin, and traveled to Turkey, Mexico and throughout Europe.
Susana Molina
Intern
Susana Molina is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at UCF, majoring in Political Science, International Studies track, with a minor in Latin American Studies. Molina is a research assistant and translator for the project PeruVine/PeruDigital, and participated in the Caracas Model United Nations. Her research interests include Latin American politics, as well as economic and social development. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a master's in International Business. A native of Venezuela, Molina has also lived in Norway and traveled to Argentina, Peru and throughout Europe. She is fluent in Spanish and is currently studying French.
