Astrid Breuer
Intern
Astrid Breuer is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at UCF, she is majoring in International and Global Studies and French, with a minor in Hospitality Management. She will serve as 2010-2011 president of the UCF chapter of the National French Honor Society. Her research interests include environmental issues and the European Union. Upon graduation, Breuer plans to pursue a graduate degree in either international relations or European studies. A native of Paraguay, she speaks Spanish and French, and has traveled throughout Europe.
Nicole Cruz
Intern
Nicole Cruz is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in Biology and Spanish, with a minor in English Literature. She serves as a 4Ever Knights Ambassador for the UCF Student Alumni Association. Her research interests include human rights, human trafficking and Latin American culture. Upon graduation, Cruz plans to attend medical school to pursue a career in ophthalmology. She speaks conversational Spanish and has traveled to Puerto Rico.
Gabrielle Swaby
Intern
Gabrielle Swaby is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in French and Environmental Studies, with a minor in International and Global Studies. She is the SGA Relations Director for the UCF Multicultural Student Center. Her research interests include European culture and Caribbean history. Upon graduation, Swaby plans to pursue a graduate degree in international relations and hopes to work for the United Nations Environment Program. She speaks conversational French, grew up in Jamaica, and has traveled to Trinidad and Barbados.
Carmel Patulot
Intern
Carmel Patulot is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at UCF, she is majoring in International Economics. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Her research interests include the politics and economics of Southeast Asia and Latin America, as well as global trade policy. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue graduate degrees in developmental studies and public policy. Patulot is fluent in Tagalog and Chabacano, proficient in Spanish, and plans to study Portuguese. She has traveled to Spain and the Philippines.
Aamna Dhillon
Intern
Aamna Dhillon is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is entering her senior year as an international baccalaureate student at Seminole High School. A member of the National Honor Society and the Model United Nations, Dhillon conducts research on organic solar cells at UCF’s Nanoscience and Technology Center. Upon graduation, she plans to attend college. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in Hindi and Punjabi, she has traveled to India, the United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Australia and Canada.
Smiti Mohan
Intern
Smiti Mohan is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is entering her senior year at Trinity Preparatory School. Mohan is a member of the Debate Team, Student Council, Student Newspaper and the Trinity Literary Society. Upon graduation, she plans to attend college to study international business. Mohan is fluent in Hindi and proficient in Latin. She has traveled to India, Switzerland, France, England, Italy, Greece and Canada.
Noelle Held
Intern
Noelle Held is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is completing her senior year as an international baccalaureate student Seminole High School. She is a member of National Honor Society. Upon graduation, Held plans to travel to Russia before continuing her studies at the college level. She is fluent in Spanish, conversational in Russian and knows American Sign Language. She has traveled to Russia, Mexico and throughout Central America.
Naomi Parks
Intern
Naomi Parks is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies, focusing on Public Affairs & Commerce, with a minor in Psychology. She is also pursuing a Certificate in Leadership Studies. Parks’ research interests include human rights issues, specifically religious freedom and women's rights, Asian studies, and peace studies. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a graduate degree in international relations. Parks is studying Japanese and Spanish, and has traveled to Japan, Korea and Canada.
Fedorah Philippeaux
Intern
Fedorah Philippeaux is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A sophomore at UCF, she is pursuing a double major in Molecular Biology/Microbiology and Engineering, with a minor in Political Science. Her research interests include European and Latin American politics, revolution and political violence and Western European history. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue doctoral and medical degrees, focusing on biomedical engineering. Philippeaux is fluent in Spanish, French and Creole, conversational in Dutch and plans to study Arabic. She has traveled to Haiti, Canada and throughout Europe.
Carly Talbott
Intern
Carly Talbott is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. A junior at UCF, she is majoring in Political Science, with an emphasis on International Relations and Comparative Politics, and minoring in Hospitality Management and Mass Communications. Her research interests include the environment and global climate change, human rights, and women’s rights. Upon graduation, Talbott plans to study law or pursue graduate studies in political reporting. She has traveled widely in Europe, including France, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria.
