Cameron Pritchard

Global Connections Scholar

Cameron Pritchard is a Global Connections Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office.  Pritchard's research interests include Enlightenment Humanism, the philosophy of science and twentieth century ideologies.  He has published his research in Philosophy Now.  He also participated in the UCF mission to the United Kingdom, along with several other staff members of the Global Perspectives Office, in 2006.  Pritchard received a B.A. in Philosophy from UCF and recently completed his thesis towards an M.A. in European Philosophy from the University of Wales Lampeter.  Pritchard has traveled across Continental Europe, South America and the Caribbean.

Javier Lorenz

Global Connections Scholar

Javier Lorenz is a Global Connections Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at Rollins College, he is majoring in International Affairs, with a minor in Philosophy. His research interests include domestic and foreign intelligence and security issues (particularly terrorism studies) military history, ancient Roman history and American politics. Upon graduation, Lorenz plans to pursue a master's in International Relations, with a focus on Security Studies. He is fluent in Spanish, and has studied French, Italian and Portuguese. He lived in Spain for five years, and has traveled throughout Europe, North America and the Caribbean.

Shainna Ali

India Program Fellow

Shainna Ali is the India Program Fellow, under the auspices of The Anil and Chitra Deshpande India Program Endowed Fund, for the Global Perspectives Office and The India Program at UCF. She is currently a senior at UCF, majoring in Anthropology, and is a member of Research and Mentoring Program. Her research interests include Indian studies, gender studies, women’s studies, Holocaust studies and cultural studies. Upon graduation, she hopes to continue her studies in UCF’s Marriage and Family Counseling Program. Ali speaks Creolese and knows some Spanish, and has traveled to Guyana, Puerto Rico, Canada and the Bahamas.

Ariel Dansky

Global Peace Fellow

Ariel Dansky is the Global Peace Fellow, under the auspices of the Sibille H. Pritchard Global Peace Fellowship, for the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at UCF, she is majoring in Political Science, with an emphasis on Comparative Politics, and minoring in Women's Studies, Spanish and Psychology. Her research interests include Israeli-Palestinian Conflict and Conflict Resolution, Failed States, Women’s issues and Globalization. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue graduate studies in international relations overseas and in the United States. She is proficient in Spanish, conversational in Hebrew and currently studying Arabic. Dansky has traveled to England, Hungary, Poland, Spain and Israel.

Nathalia Martins

MacArthur Scholar

Nathalia Martins is a MacArthur Scholar under the auspices of the William MacArthur International Affairs Awards Program in the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at UCF, she is majoring in Political Science - International Studies and minoring in French. She is currently the President of the French Club at UCF. Her research interests include West European politics, the European Union, comparative politics and international law. She plans on graduate studies in international relations or law. A native of Brazil, Martins is fluent in Portuguese, has studied Spanish and French, and has traveled in South America and the Caribbean.

Michael Napolitano

Global Fellow

Michael Napolitano is a Global Fellow under the auspices of The Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellows Program at the University of Central Florida, for the Global Perspectives Office. He is currently a senior at UCF, majoring in Anthropology. Napolitano is a member of Hominids Anonymous, the Anthropology club at UCF. He is currently working on his Honors in the Major Thesis, which focuses on primate dominance hierarchies. His research interests include primate behavior, biobehavior and sociobiology. Napolitano is studying Italian and has traveled to Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Canada.

Norah Perez

MacArthur Scholar

Norah Perez is a MacArthur Scholar under the auspices of the William MacArthur International Affairs Awards Program in the Global Perspectives Office. A senior at Rollins College, she is majoring in Economics with a minor in International Affairs. She is one of the founders of the Ethics Committee, where she helped to develop the Ethics Roundtable Discussion. Perez spent four years in South Africa, and speaks English and Spanish, as well as some German.

Jessica Gagnon

China-Taiwan Fellow

Jessica Gagnon the Project Specialist for the Global Perspectives Office, the Diplomacy Program, the Terrorism Studies Program and other affiliated organizations, including the Global Connections Foundation. She is also the China-Taiwan Fellow for Spring 2010, under the auspices of the C.T. and Jean Hsu Fund of the Global Connections Foundation. Gagnon is responsible for assisting with globally oriented projects and programs, conducting research and serving as a liaison to key partners, notably the Orlando Area Committee on Foreign Relations. She also specifically works on research projects related to China and Taiwan. Previously, she was a Program and Research Assistant for the same group of partners. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with an Honors degree in International Relations and Comparative Politics and a minor in Marketing. Gagnon is currently pursuing an M.A. in International Studies at UCF, and is a Graduate Assistant in the UCF Political Science Department. She was a Provost’s Fellow in 2007-2008. Gagnon’s research interests include East Asia and American national security. Fluent in French and a student of Mandarin, she has traveled extensively in North America and has visited China. She is sponsored by the Global Connections Foundation.

Laura Stockbridge

Global Fellow

Laura Stockbridge is a Global Fellow, under the auspices of the Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellows Program at the University of Central Florida, for the Global Perspectives Office. She is currently a senior at UCF, majoring in Business Economics, International track, with a minor in Mathematics. She is currently a member of Honors Congress and the Burnett Honors College Economics Club, an economics researcher for the UCF Institute for Economic Competitiveness and an Economic Research Assistant for the UCF Economics Department. Stockbridge recently won the R. Glenn Hubbard Research Award in undergraduate economics. Her research interests include development economics and trade theory. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a Ph.D. in international economics and development economics. Stockbridge speaks French and has traveled to France, the Netherlands, Mexico and Canada.

Jason Kelly

India Program Fellow

Jason Kelly is the India Program Fellow, under the auspices of The Anil and Chitra Deshpande India Program Endowed Fund, for the Global Perspectives Office and The India Program at UCF. He is currently a junior, majoring in Psychology and Journalism. Kelly has served on the executive boards of various Caribbean student groups at UCF. Upon graduation, he wishes to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology, intending to focus his research on the psychology behind European colonialism and imperialism. Kelly is proficient in French and Dutch, and enjoys studying Papiamentu, Haitian Creole, and Afrikaans in his spare time.
